Eating at Old West

Whenever our family goes to visit my grandmother "mamma" we always try to eat at Old West. It is so good! Old West is one of those places you go when you don't mind a lot of noise. It's a place you go when you don't mind being crammed into a small space. On Saturday's it is ALWAYS packed with people and the smell of coffee! Yummy! I personally LOVE pancakes and this place makes the best pancakes EVER!! I couldn't resist taking a picture of Ian at Old West. He is starting to show an interest in coloring so we gave it a shot!

Ian had so much fun at Owen's today. He was able to see horses, chickens, goats and cows. Strangely, there were no pigs!!! I asked Matt about that, and he made an obvious comment about them all being made into sausage! Ahhhh...that's where they were today. Gross! Anyway, with the admission price of $7 per adult, we were able to feed the animals and got to take home 2 small pumpkins! They had hay rides too, but we opted out. Ian has pretty bad allergies:(

Little Peanut

I decided to post my sono pictures for our family and friends. I am almost 17 weeks pregnant and these were taken at 13 weeks. The sonographer thinks the baby is a girl, but for now we refer to the baby as "peanut".

Ian is 17 months old tomorrow! We went to the pediatrician and here are his stats.

Weight-27lbs (75th percentile)

Height-33.5inches (90th percentile)

What can Ian do?

He is finally walking!

He says over 45 words!

He has started putting simple sentences together! (i.e. "night night car", "night night kitty","hi dada")

He loves reading books more than playing with toys!

He loves swinging "nee nee"!

Ian loves to eat too, but I bet you couldn't tell that from his weight! Ha!

He is going to be a BIG BROTHER!!!

We're walking...

Ian finally started walking!!!!! I thought it was never going to happen! I should have known that he would take after his momma. I didn't start walking until I was 16 months old, and Ian is 16 months old!! He is so cute when he walks too! He just smiles and makes the cutest face.

Matt and I are so thankful because we are expecting our second child and really needed Ian to walk. He is so heavy now that I can't carry him as much. This weekend, Grandma and Grandpa are coming up to visit, and we will take Ian shoe shopping! I can't wait to get his very first pair of shoes! Stride Rite, here we come!!

Holy Cow!

Well, this weekend, my dad and I took Ian to the Texas State Fair! It has been a long standing tradition since I was a little girl. My dad would take me one of the first weekends the fair opened so I could watch the horses! My sweet dad would sit for hours in the arena and watch the horses go around in circles. I think about it now and wonder how in the world he could stand it!!

This year Ian was old enough that we could make it a family affair. We loaded up bright and early (8:30 a.m.) and caught the DART. It was Ian's first train ride too! We arrived at 10 a.m. and hit the livestock first. Ian was able to experience his very first real cow! This particular cow seemed very interested in Ian too! It was resting on it's side when we walked up, but then it stood up and came right over to Ian. I thought the cow would lick his toe!!! Anyway, here are a couple of photos!

Oh, and we took Ian to see the auto show! He loves cars and just kept saying, "whoa!"
