Bluebonnets

Ian and I spent some time in Waco to allow Matt some uninterupted time to write for his first of four doctoral exams. We had so much fun! In one of the empty lots near my in-laws' home, bluebonnets covered the ground! We took advantage of the beautiful weather and snapped a few photos!

The Friendly Felines

So Matt commented yesterday that I have never blogged about our quadrupeds. Yes, we have two cats! Lucy is our panda bear cat and she will be nine years old this summer. Geordi is our little tiger and he will be seven on May 5Th.

Lucy has always been rather annoying. It all began when she was a little baby kitten. Since then she has just changed the way she shows her annoyances. All in all she is a very friendly and sweet cat.

Geordi has always been the alpha male. He rules the roost and won't let you forget it. He is Lucy's protector and is always aware of where she is at all times. He sleeps on the corner of the bed so he can watch for any unauthorized visitors upstairs. His purr is so loud, you can hear him across the room. What a smelly cat!

We love them a lot as pets and they have adjusted very well to Ian. Lucy checks on Ian all of the time and has acquired the name of "Nana cat". Sweet kitties!

Cheerio ya'll!

I have been very nervous when it comes to feeding Ian anything truly solid. He does great with his baby food, but when it comes to anything outside of the box, oh boy!

I decided that I needed to get over the fear of Ian choking. I have given him Cheerio's in the past, but he just plays with them. Today, I helped him by putting one in his mouth and demonstrating how to self feed by feeding myself one. I hate Cheerio's but tried to remain neutral during the demonstration. He ate it without so much of a gag! After a while of playing, he put one in his mouth!! YEAH! After that one, he tried again! I am so proud!

Tonight, we went to dinner and I decided to try giving him some of my table food. He did AWESOME! He ate rice and beans! He absolutely LOVED it! I guess mom doesn't always know best!

GQ Baby!

Ian is so sweet and adorable! I took these photos before church yesterday because he looked like a baby model!!! (At least in my opinion!)

Ian has some eczema, but after reading baby Jonah's situation, I know it could have been so much worse. Jonah was born with a rare skin disorder. Please pray for this sweet little guy and his family.
